“Without a global revolution in the sphere of human consciousness the catastrophe toward which the world is headed will be unavoidable.”
Vaclav Havel, Past President of the Czech Republic, addressing the US Congress.
We encourage you to host your own Stop Still for Peace UN Peace Day event – and become part of a vision of co-creating peaceful cities, communities and a sustainable world.
If it’s feasible to host the event sometime between 8.00 – 9.00am on Saturday 21st September, 2019, that would be wonderful (but also fine if not possible).
You can host your own event in two easy steps:
- Suggested wording for your event: here
- Enter your event details on our form to advertise it on the Stop Still for Peace Map of Events: here. (Please note that advertisement of your event does not constitute a formal endorsement of your event.)
At the event, you are invited to use your own observance as appropriate which might involve, for instance, quiet reflection, lighting candles for peace, prayer or readings.
As an alternative, you are also welcome to play the three (approx) seven-minute guided meditation commentaries (for the self, the community and the world) on the website (which can be downloaded in advance).
We hope that someday, going forward, all of Melbourne (at least) have the opportunity to join a community for peace at the start of the day on UN Peace Days.
But in the meantime, we wish you every peaceful success, thank you for your cooperation – and, of course, look forward to tuning into peace on UN Peace Day, 2019, with you.
The Stop Still for Peace organising team.
